Nouvatan Spray Tanning
I am the approved regional Spray Tan Trainer for Kent & SE London. I have been using Nouvatan for the last 8 years and I have been a trainer for them for the last 7. This is the only spray tanning product that I will 100% recommend. This product is second to none.
Nouvatan has been created to provide the best Sunless Tanning Solution available. It’s made with 100% natural, active organic ingredients with no parabens, alcohol or oils, leaving you with a perfect looking Sunless Tan, which is not drying on the skin. Nouvatan has 7 different shades, so it is suitable for all skin types. The DHA (the active ingredient which creates the tan) is made from sugar, not chemicals (unlike many of the other spray tans on the market). Nouvatan has added Vitamins and moisturisers which leaves your skin feeling silky smooth with a natural looking tan. We even do a rapid tan, which can develop in as little as 2 hours!!!
BEFORE THE TAN (PREP)
- Shower & Exfoliate
- Avoid heavy moisturising shower gels
- No deodorant, oil based products, perfumes or moisturiser
- Wax/Shave at least 24 hours prior
- Avoid silk, wool, leather and elastic
- Wear suitable swim or underwear
- Wear loose, dark clothing and open shoes after your tan
WHAT MAY HAPPEN IF I DON’T FOLLOW THE PREP?
Exfoliating helps lift off the dead skin cells on the skin, which naturally replenish every 5-7 days. If you don’t exfoliate beforehand you will be more like to have a patchy, uneven fade off.
If you have used heavy moisturiser on the skin, or moisturising shower gels, these can leave an oily barrier on the skin, preventing the tan from tanning the topmost layer of the epidermis. What this effectively means, is that when you shower off the Guide colour, you will also most likely shower off the tan.
Using deodorant, perfume & make-up can lead to a reaction with the product and leave a green looking area on the skin and may also lead to an uneven result.
If you have shaved or waxed less than 24 hours before then this can leave open pores on the skin…this in turn can lead to an ‘orange peel’ effect, but can also lead to a reaction as there is more possibility of entering the bloodstream.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT LASER HAIR REMOVAL CAN LEAVE THE SKIN WITH PIGMENTATION ISSUES
AFTERCARE
- Shower after 6-8 hours
- Pat dry, do not rub
- Avoid any water on the skin during the developing process
- Avoid heavy exercise
- Use After Tan Toning Moisturiser
NB 20% Solution should be applied and washed off at the desired time for the effect.
This solution will carry on developing AFTER wash off.
FOR A BRIDAL PARTY HAVING A TAN
I suggest using only a low percentage, (either a 6 or 8 %) 8% is usually low enough. I always suggest a trial at the very least, a few weeks before the wedding date. I also suggest using flash photography approximately 48 hours after, to see how it looks on camera. (If having bridal make-up as well as a Spray Tan with myself, I suggest having the Trial Spray Tan 48 hours before we do your make-up trial)
Also bear this in mind…Who else in the bridal party is having a tan…who is going to be in the photographs standing alongside you? It can look pretty ridiculous if only the Bride has a tan and the rest of the Bridal Party is pale, including the Groom!
